On the 8th of December 2023, an educational expedition unfolded under the guidance of Headmaster HS Sooli. Dubbed as the "PM SHRI Tour," this expedition aimed at acquainting students with two marvels of engineering prowess: the Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project (HEP) and the World's Highest Rail Bridge located in District Reasi of Jammu & Kashmir. The event was set in motion with a ceremonial flag-off by none other than the esteemed DC Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh IAS, and CEO Doda, Sh. Purshotam Gouria. With a group of approximately 60 enthusiastic students, the tour embarked on a journey to explore the technological achievements that stand as testaments to human ingenuity and perseverance. Baglihar HEP, nestled amidst the breathtaking terrain of Doda, represents a feat of modern engineering. The students had the opportunity to witness firsthand the intricate workings of this hydroelectric project, understanding its role in harnessing the power of nature to generate electricity for the region. Following the exploration of Baglihar HEP, the tour ventured towards the Chenab Rail Bridge in District Reasi. This architectural marvel not only serves as a crucial transportation link but also stands as a symbol of progress and development in the region. The students marveled at the sheer scale and engineering brilliance behind the construction of this towering structure, gaining insights into the complexities involved in infrastructure projects of such magnitude.
